By Emma Rossman:
Bonjour! November 8th through 12th is National French Week, or “La Semaine du Français!” Our chapter of French Honor Society is celebrating this week by inviting everyone to participate in the spirit week themes, so make sure you check out the flyer below. All are welcome to participate but only French students earn 1 bonus point for every day they dress up!
Also to celebrate National French Week, we decided to ask some of our French Honor Society members (and Madame Borkosky) why they enjoy French class so much and why people should consider adding it to their schedule next year!
Madame Borkosky:
“French has made my life so much more exciting as it has offered me opportunities I never would have had. Through the language I have had the opportunity to travel, meet new people, hear new stories and music, and of course try new foods!l”
Jenna Stoltz:
“We do a lot of fun things in French and the teacher is also amazing. People should join because the class is honestly really fun to be in and Madame is always doing something funny.”
Kendra Crist:
“French is an interesting language to learn and I enjoy the things we learn in class, like the culture of the French and the different countries that have French influence. People should join French just to have another language under their belt and to learn about cultures different to ours.”
Emma Rossman:
“I love French class not only because Madame is very enthusiastic when she teaches, but also because it's really cool to learn about the culture of France and other Francophone countries. I love the holiday parties when everyone brings in French food (especially cream puffs)!”
Emily Durliat:
“I enjoy French because I like learning about a new language and how other people live their lives. I think people should join French because Madame is a great teacher that will answer any questions you have and wants the best for each of her students.”
Caden Anderson:
“I enjoy French because it’s been the only class I’ve taken every year of highschool and 8th grade. I also like it because I’m decently good at it. People should join French because learning another language can be really helpful in the future, plus the class is just really fun.”
Evelyn Flick:
“French is a great subject because not only are you learning the language, you are also learning about the people and culture. This means you get to play games, eat tons of food, and learn new traditions. It’s also a great way to meet new people!”
Kendra Tossey:
“I enjoy French because Madame is such a positive person and gives good vibes. People should join because it is great to have knowledge of other cultures and languages.”
Megan Worstine:
“It's good for college applications. Most activities we do are fun and not to mention the teacher is great! :)”
Chris Cortez:
“I enjoy French because it gives me the opportunity to learn a new language and learning a new language (in my opinion) makes someone more well-rounded. I also enjoy French because I can use it at the dinner table to look cooler and smarter in front of my parents at the dinner table.”
