October Senior of the Month
Luke Metzger
Family
Luke is the son of David and Tara Metzger. He has one older brother, Ryan, and a younger brother, Drew. His favorite childhood memory was when he traveled to Delaware State Park with his aunts, uncles, and cousins. They rode around on their bikes, had water balloon fights, made s’mores, played euchre tournaments, and competed in kickball and volleyball games. Every Sunday, Luke looks forward to spending time at his grandparents’ house. His grandma always makes an amazing meal for all 20 cousins!!!
Luke’s role model is his grandpa Bill…
“He is very unselfish and it seems he always puts the needs of others first. He is strong in his faith and shows that to all of his grandsons.”
Extracurricular Activities, Work, and Volunteering
Luke is a three sport athlete who plays football, basketball, and baseball. His favorite high school memory was beating LB in football last year. Luke is also a member of Student Council, National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and the French Honor Society. He participates in 4-H and FCA as well. Luke has volunteered his time at Mission Possible, the Arlington Festival, 4-H trash pickup, and the City Mission in Findlay preparing and serving meals. In addition to these activities, he works a few different jobs. These jobs include mowing the lawns at rental properties, splitting wood for J & R wood, and helping Bob Hollister with the upkeep of his property.
Enjoyment and the Future….
In his spare time, Luke enjoys watching and playing sports, hanging with the “boys”, riding horses with Brooklyn, and prepping his sheep for the county and state fairs. Luke is looking forward to his last sports seasons and the memories they will create. Next fall, Luke plans to attend either the University of Toledo or Ohio Northern University and major in civil engineering. Ultimately, he would like to return to the Arlington area to begin his career. Congratulations and best wishes!
