Arlington Girls Basketball

Coming off last year’s 8-14 record (4-5 BVC) the Arlington Girls’ basketball team is looking forward to a year of improvement. Entering his 5th year of coaching, Head Coach Jimmy Nicholson said, “I am looking forward to taking the next step as a basketball team. Having a winning record and growing as a team.” The team is on the right track with a current record of 2-2.

The team will rely on its 5 returning lettermen including its senior leading scorer Brooklyn Smith who averaged 13 points per game. Leading 3-point shooter and senior point guard Leah Durliat will direct the Red Devils’ offense. The team is also expecting significant contributions from sophomores Jada Smith who led last year’s team in rebounding and sophomore Mea Alexander, another leading 3-point scorer. Adding to the Red Devils’ depth are seniors Cami Settlage and Julia Stewart both returning from injuries. The Lady Devils hope to grow as a team and improve each game.

Arlington Boys Basketball

The Arlington boys’ basketball team is known for its fast-paced offense and relentless defense. Coming off last year’s 19-7 record (7-1 BVC), the team returns 4 senior lettermen including senior Caden Russell, the team’s leading rebounder, and Brady Kin, the team’s leading 3-point scorer. Also returning are junior letter-winners Jase Vermillion and Brady Griggs. The team already sits at 2-0 with wins against Fort Jennings and Kalida.

Head coach Jason Vermillion who is entering his 26th year of coaching and is only five wins away from his 400th win said, “We are looking forward to watching this team play with great effort and compete hard in each game.”
